Any child or young person that visits Pine Lake is expected to read and follow our code of conduct.

Our team strives to ensure that every child/young person feels safe and enjoys their time at Pine Lake. Therefore we do ask that all campers agree to follow this code of conduct during their time with us. Failure to do so will result in appropriate actions being taken including sending children home when deemed necessary.

We ask all campers to:

Notice on Allergies and Intolerances:

Parents/Guardians must supply specific information relating to food allergies and intolerances on the booking form.

Please note, menus are prepared weeks in advance and food is ordered according to the information given on the booking form.

Pine Lake is a nut free centre

All food that we provide, including Tuck is nut free. We would ask all parents, children and young people not to bring food, drink, or snacks onto site as we are a nut free centre. Any food, drink, or snacks will be confiscated immediately and disposed of. We do get children and young people with some very serious allergies. We reserve the right to send a child home with no refund if this policy is ignored. This may seem to be extreme, but we take the safety of all children in our care seriously.

Sick Policy:

The health and well being of children is of paramount importance at Pine Lake.

In order to maintain a clean and healthy environment for all the children on camp, we would ask that parents/guardians would not send their children to camp if they have had sickness in the last 48 hours before camp or they are displaying signs of sickness. The reason for this is that we want to protect children and adults from preventable infection.

If a child has sickness or diarrhoea whilst on camp, parents will be contacted immediately and should collect their child immediately. If a member of staff suspects that a child has an infectious or contagious disease, they will request that they are picked up and taken to a doctor before returning the child to camp.

Emergency

There will always be a good number of staff present who have the Emergency First Aid at work certificates. This is in accordance with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations, 1981. First Aid boxes are in suitable positions on all three floors. There are two First Aid bags which are taken to activity zones which are further away from the main centre. Names of qualified First Aiders are displayed in the foyer.

Cancellation policy:

Please notify us in writing if a booking must be cancelled.

The following charges apply according to the timing of the cancellation in relation of the start of camp:

  • within 8 weeks – 50% of total cost
  • within 4 weeks – 75% of total cost
  • within 2 weeks – 100% of total cost

In the event of your cancellation, we will invoke the cancellation charges listed above. We therefore recommend that to safeguard your possible loss of part or all your holiday cost due to cancellation or curtailment, that you have some sort of cancellation and/or travel insurance.
